SKLP Cricket Club Colts Academy began in 2001 and as we embark into the 10th year, the standard of cricket being played amongst the colts elite has grown from strength to strength. An average of 50 colts being signed up each season proves their will be a backbone for the club and with some many of today’s senior players breaking through to the highest level of cricket the club can offer is proof in its self that the club can produce talented young cricketers within the community. The club can also boast by sending 3 / 4 colts to Middlesex County Trails each year and we are on a whisker away in having a SKLPCC Colts playing at county level.
The club has several ECB Level I and II coaches at present and is currently running colts league sides for Under 11's, Under 13's, Under 15's all playing in the Middlesex North Area League Division.
THE 2010 Season…..
U11 – League Runners Up. Gained Promotion to Division 3
U13 – 5th finish in Division 3.
U15 – Champions of Division 4. Through to the national league play offs and promotion to Division 3. Unbeaten in the league campaign
The SKLPCC Colts 2010 season was really one to remember for the young budding cricketers. Excitement was very clear on the faces of the boys as all they wanted to do was play competitive matches after a gruelling winter indoor practice period.
Overall, this was an incredible season for SKLPCC Colts and one that will live on in so many people’s memories. The coaches gave up so much of their personal time and without their support and dedication, this academy would simply not be possible. So many parents came to watch the games and in most cases, the parents of SKLPCC outnumbered the opposition counterparts and got involved in the excitement of the matches. On behalf of SKLPCC, thank you parents for all you help / support and time and furthermore, thank you for the joys you have bought to the club. However, this academy would simply not be possible, fun and rewarding without the young players themselves. May this continue for many more years to come.
