SCALLOPS BLOW AWAY LONDON MACCABI - 22/05/2011
The day started with a few hiccups as the sklpcc strike bowler naran gami managed to block his phone and had to go home to sort it out. After he came back the scallop force made there way to a tricky ground. We finally managed to get there, we soon realized that were going to be in for a cold day.
The toss took place, koshik had won his first toss as captain and decided to have a bat. Scallop force went with the opening pair for koshik and rashil, both started slow and applying themselves with great maturity. Umpiring to to these batsmen was a honour , especially when both batsmen looking to go make a big one. The first wicket went in the 19th over at 110 runs and it was the little captain departing to a blinder from the fielder at point, koshik went for a impressive 46 of 63 balls.
Arrived the ricky ponting of the club Jessie halai, he started of slowly looked a tad shaky but it didn’t matter because the kipling master at the other end was in for a TON ! while Jessie was settling in and getting to know the bowlers, rashil was absolutely splattering the ball around the ground.
Kipling finally departed and missed out on a real biggie and was gutted he had to leave the field, he went in the 25th over with the score on162 runs for 2, rashil made a wonderful 73 of 55 balls.
In came the wonder man from Saturdays innings akshay ! Jessie was batting on another lovely, timing the ball like the whole bats the middle it really was a innings of sheer class. The overs were ticking along, with plenty of batting to come the captain gave akshay licence he went for it and he SMASHED 4 boundries all over the ground in a row ! unfortunately being mahela ! he got a tad excited and whacked one to the fielder he departed for a quick fire 24 the scores were now 207 for 3 of 29 overs SKLPCC were hungry for runs ! Anup went in but didn’t happen for him and in came kamil. Jessie I think didn’t even notice that wickets were falling he just continued to bat superbly. Kamil came in and was middling the ball from ball one giving Jessie strike come the 37th over Jessie was on 90 and kamil was on 40, I had to run on the pitch just to tell Jessie, MATE play for that hundred, and he finally got there it was a immense innings of class and maturity from a 19 year old TOP CLASS BUDDY J, kamil fell short and ended on 49 not out but a fantastic supporting innings for jesse. Sklp finished on a cracking phenomenal 325 for 4 after 40 overs.
After the interval the bowler had the cherry in his hand rearing to go, and it wasn’t akshay who had the cherry IT WAS NARAN GAMI ! he was getting some serious movement MAJAAA AVII ! he kept to his line he kept his length and it was really good to see him bowl. The batsmen had no clue whatsoever and as a player you fancy that. Akshay came on from the otherside and backed up narans furious over, bowled really well.
Naran gami persisted with his top line and it paid of he got the opening bat who looked dangerous, with kippers taking a DIVING CATCH AT SLIP YES KIPPERS ! but it was a lollipop diving catch so kippers just added dive to make it look hard J ! after that first wicket went narans confident was sky high, he rattled the top 3 batsmen and was on fire 2 good catches by koshik and nayur. wickets kept falling and akshays hard work paid of he bowled the batsmens middle stump was a great sight to see. However you think that naran was getting tired OOOO BOY he got another wicket there was no stopping him, he was on to get a fiver. Koshik then gave naran his last over, it was a test match field just to get narans fiver. Wit 3 balls to go naran pushed put extra effort and he got it celebrations all round. FANTASTIC SPELL, he finished with 8 overs 35 runs 5 wickets WELL DONE. Akshay backed up naran by bowling a good spell of 5 overs 18 runs for 1 wicket. Wickets kept falling and they were 80 for 6 game was nearly done and dusted. But the scallop force didnt take things lightly then came on anup and vishal. Vishal bowled well but it didn’t work out, however anup picked up 2 wickets for 30 runs. It was a hard graft because they actually shut up shop in a LIMITED GAME ! Nayur the fiesty bob had to turn to skipper and asked ‘skipper let me bowl’ koshik turned to him and it paid of, after a few close shouts it was finally over bob ended wit figures of 3.1 overs 7 runs for 2 wickets. london Maccabi were skittled for 135 ALL OUT !
Overall it was a fantastic day, would love the thank the supporters coming to watch and hope to see more of you attending cheering the team on.
